Camerce ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Camerce website and provides WooCommerce plugins and Shopify apps. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information about you when you use our services, visit our website, or purchase our software products.

By using Camerce services you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

Short version

We collect only what we need to provide our service, license our plugins, and improve our products. We do not sell your data. We don't display ads. You can request deletion of your data at any time.

Account & Purchase Data

When you purchase a plugin license or create a Camerce account, we collect:

  • Name and email address
  • Billing address and payment method (processed by our payment processor, we do not store card details)
  • License key, activation domain, and product purchase history
  • Support ticket history and communications

Usage & Technical Data

When you use our website or documentation, we may automatically collect:

  • IP address, browser type, and operating system
  • Pages visited, time on page, and referral source
  • Plugin version, WordPress version, and WooCommerce version (sent during plugin update checks)
  • Error logs and crash reports when you opt in to usage analytics

Plugin Telemetry (Opt-in Only)

Our plugins may include optional usage analytics. These are disabled by default and collect only anonymised, aggregate data, such as which dashboard features are used most, when you explicitly opt in inside the plugin settings.

How We Use Your Data

We do not use your data for advertising, nor do we allow third-party advertisers to target you based on data collected through our services.

  • Deliver, license, and activate purchased plugins
  • Process payments and issue invoices and receipts
  • Provide customer support and respond to enquiries
  • Send critical product updates, security notices, and renewal reminders
  • Improve product features and fix bugs (using anonymised aggregate data)
  • Meet legal obligations and prevent fraud

Data Sharing & Third Parties

We share data with service providers only as needed to run Camerce, such as a payment processor for billing and infrastructure providers for hosting. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for commercial purposes.

Data Retention

If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

  • License and purchase records: retained for 7 years to comply with financial record-keeping requirements
  • Support tickets: retained for 3 years after closure
  • Usage analytics: aggregated and anonymised after 12 months
  • Server logs: retained for 30 days, then automatically deleted

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Deletion: request that we delete your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Portability: request your data in a machine-readable format
