What Profitrics needs, how to install it, and the five minutes of setup that decide whether your numbers mean anything.
Profitrics reports what your store actually kept. It takes the revenue WooCommerce already records, subtracts the costs you tell it about, and reports net profit and margin per order, per product, per category and per day.
That last part is the whole job. Profitrics knows what you charged, because WooCommerce knows. It cannot know what anything cost you until you enter it. A store with no costs entered will report a margin near 100%, and it will be wrong in the most flattering possible direction.
Requirements
WordPress 6.5 or newer
WooCommerce 9.5 or newer, installed and active
PHP 7.4 or newer
WooCommerce is a hard requirement rather than a recommendation. Profitrics reads orders, products and gateways through WooCommerce, and will not activate without it.
Install and activate
In WordPress, go to Plugins then Add New then Upload Plugin, and choose the zip file. The free edition can instead be installed by searching the plugin directory.
Activate it.
Open WooCommerce then Profitrics.
Profitrics lives under the WooCommerce menu, not in its own top level menu. Every screen below is a tab along the top of that page.
The first five minutes
In this order. Each step depends on the one above it, and doing the last one first is the most common reason a dashboard looks empty.
Open Settings and check Currency and Included Order Statuses. The statuses decide which orders count at all, so a store that treats processing as the real sale needs it ticked here.
Enter your product costs. If you have a handful of products, type them on the product screen. If you have hundreds, use the COGS Manager.
Open the Orders tab and run Apply Costs to Past Orders. Until this runs, existing orders carry no cost and the dashboard reports the revenue you already knew about.
Go back to the Dashboard and check the figures against something you know is true, such as last month's payout from your gateway.
The Dashboard once costs are entered and past orders have been rebuilt. The four cards across the top are the summary; everything below breaks it down.
Free and Pro
Profitrics ships in two editions and they differ by which screens exist, not by locks on screens you can see. A tab that belongs to Pro is simply not present in the free edition, so there is nothing greyed out to click.
Edition
Tabs
Both
Dashboard, Products, Orders, Gateway Fees, Shipping, Expenses, Settings, and the product CSV in Export
Pro only
Trends, Customers, Goals, Ad Spend, Inventory, COGS Manager, Email Reports, and the rest of Export
Each article below says which edition its screen belongs to, so you are never sent looking for a tab you do not have.
